'Zen Ties' by Jon J. Muth

"Hi Koo!" said Stillwater. "I brought you some welcome balloons."
Koo took the balloons and bowed.
"An uplifting gift!
could you carry my case,
generous Uncle?" asked Koo.

-----

"Tea was very good
my cup holds emptiness now
where shall I put it?" asked Koo.

This review by:  Han Solo, 6 years old

What is the book called? Zen Ties

Who is the author? Jon J. Muth

Who is the illustrator? Jon J. Muth

Who are the main characters? Stillwater, Koo, Addy, Michael, Karl, and Miss Whitaker.

What is this story about?
This story is mostly about Stillwater and Koo. Stillwater is a panda, at least we think he's a grown up panda. Koo is another panda that is either a kid panda or a baby panda, but I think he's a kid panda.

Stillwater is waiting at the train station for Koo. When Koo comes, they go to the park and have tea and they meet their friends there.

And then Stillwater has them go to Miss Whitaker's house and Miss Whitaker says when they're there, "Why on earth did you bring these kids here?" The kids treated Miss Whitaker way nicer than she treated the kids.

And then they learned that Miss Whitaker used to teach English and then Miss Whitaker helps one of the kids for the spelling bee. Then he has the spelling bee.

Regularly when they're playing in her yard, she says to get out of her yard and play in the street. Then, in the book, she says to get out of the street and play in the yard. And then Koo goes home.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Yes

Why or why not? I would recommend this book to a five or six year old friend because it seems like the book for a five or six year old. Part of how it's a good book is by Koo and Stillwater being in the book. One part about it that isn't so good is when they go to meet Miss Whitaker.  Another reason that it's a good book is because of the kids being in the book.
